Nicole joined MCIE in 2024 as a Professional Learning Coordinator after 35 years with Howard County Public Schools (HCPSS). Her past roles have included Special Educator and Department of Special Education Countywide Resource Teacher and Elementary Instructional Facilitator.  Throughout her career, Nicole has advocated for meaningful participation within school communities. She has collaborated with central office teams, administrators and school staff to provide quality, data-driven programming for all students. Nicole has implemented professional learning specific to co-development/co-implementation/co-evaluation practices, specially designed instruction, assistive technology, UDL and inclusive practices, particularly focusing on students with complex needs. She also has experience with instructional coaching and has had opportunities to present at national conferences about meaningful participation within an inclusive setting.
